The song, "The Thrill Is Gone" was first recorded by Roy Hawkins, it's co-author and became a minor hit. B.B. King recorded his version in June of 1969 and became the biggest hit of King's career. It is #183 on Rolling Stone's magazine list of the top 500 greatest songs ever.
