I started my musical career playing clarinet when I was 8 years old but when I saw The Beatles on Ed Sullivan at age 11, my life changed. I knew I had to play the guitar and forget the clarinet. My first real band was with Joey (from Joey & The Sting Rays). We played at The Palace when we were both in our early teens. Stones and The Beatles was all we played. I worked also with different bands including The Shane Gang, RPM, TKO, Night Shift, Messenger, Slick Surface and The Vandals of San Diego with Steve Burnside.
I also did some traveling to Chicago in the late 1970s' with Joe Horton and the Stone Parade. Joey Chess from the Sting Rays was also in that band. In the 80s' I came back to San Diego and reformed a band called Shock Treatment then Serpentine Fire. I took that band on the road for 3 years through the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Utah and Idaho) and had a ball. Nice people up there.
